Granite is igneous stone (produced from intense heat). It started as liquid magma from the depths of the earth. Under extreme pressures and slow cooling process granite is one of the hardest and most dense types of stone. It is made up of many components with the most common being quartz, mica and feldspar. The amount of these components can greatly very for each type of granite. Usually feldspar is the major mineral of granite. Secondly is quartz. Quartz is the hardest material in the composition of the stone. Remaining minerals also adding colors and uniqueness to granite are mica and coal.
 

Polished :- The Polished finished is a highly reflective, mirror gloss finish. The full color, depth and crystal structure of the stone is visible. A polished finish seals surface pores and is therefore nearly impervious weather and chemical wear.
 
Honed :- A smooth ,satin surface without reflection, the honed finish shows the full color of the stone. It is produced on the same equipment as the polished finishes; however, the honing process ends prior to the buffering stage.
 
Flamed :- Applying a high-temperature flame to the surface of the stone produces the flamed finish. This flame fractures crystals on the face. leaving a rough texture finish. Highly skid resistant, this finish is an excellent choice for walking surfaces.
